Polish PM at meeting of 16 CEE countries with China

The gathering was to see leaders holding talks on boosting business ties between China and the 16 nations.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency was expected to officially sign a deal on strategic cooperation with the authorities of China’s southern Hunan province.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Finance and Development Minister Mateusz Morawiecki last week said that efforts should be made to change the trade balance between Poland and China.

Poland last year imported goods from China worth over 12 times more than Polish exports to that country, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

A two-day meeting of transport policy makers from Central and Eastern European countries and China took place in Warsaw in October.

Poland has voiced interest in securing Chinese capital for transport infrastructure projects such as seaports, inland waterways, road, rail as well as airport infrastructure.
