The carrier has also filed a complaint to the European Commission against the Warsaw airport authority over alleged abuse of dominant market position, according to the report by the fly4free.pl website.
Ryanair flies about 600,000 passengers a year from Warsaw to Gdańsk and Wrocław, according to fly4free.
Juliusz Komorek, a director at Ryanair, has told the website that the state-owned Porty Lotnicze (PPL) enterprise, which manages Warsaw Chopin Airport, is allegedly making it difficult for Ryanair to conduct its operations from the airport.
“At the beginning of July, PPL started moving us to positions so far away from the terminal that the journey to the plane by bus lasted 20 minutes,” Komorek said, as quoted by the website.
“This was an unacceptable situation for us because these are business flights that we provide three times a day,” he added.
The carrier will continue to fly from Warsaw to the northwestern city of Szczecin, according to the fly4free.pl report. (gs/pk)
