Funds have been secured to guarantee pay rises for teachers and servicemen and women, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has said.

Pay hikes for police, border guards, fire-fighters and "other uniformed" officers were part of a four-year services modernisation plan adopted last year, Morawiecki said.
"This year we are increasing spending on equipment and pay... and more changes to remunerations have been forecast for 2019," he said.
He said the raises were possible thanks to a crackdown on tax cheats.
"It will bring PN 20 billion (EUR 4.7 billion) in extra tax revenue this year alone," Morawiecki said.
