The paper reported that Poles are European leaders in contactless card payments and in self-service cash register use, and are quick to adopt new technologies at the mall.

According to the survey by research firm Maison & Partners, many Poles are open to scanning items on the shelf using a device provided by the retailer, or even their smartphones, the daily said.

They would also prefer to have their shopping bill automatically charged to their accounts via their phones as they leave the store rather than having to queue at the checkout, the daily said. (vb/pk)
