Szydło on Sunday and Monday took part in a Belt and Road Forum dedicated to China's planned so-called new Silk Road initiative.
The ambitious rail and maritime network will encompass some 60 countries in a drive by China to become a bigger player in global trade.
"There is a lot of interest in cooperation with Poland, both in terms of investment and trade, for example,” said Szydło.
She added that during her visit to China she had discussed opportunities for joint investment, tourism and cultural exchange projects and for team-ups between Polish and foreign universities.
"For Poland, the most important thing is that this cooperation translates into concrete development projects," she added.
Szydło described the Belt and Road plan as "an initiative that will probably dictate the conditions of economic development in the region in the coming decades."
She added: "It will also affect what happens in countries that want to participate in these projects."
