CETA will make it easier for Polish firms to enter Canadian market: deputy minister

The entry into force of a free trade deal between Canada and the EU will not be a landmark moment, but will make it easier for Polish companies to enter the Canadian market, Polish Deputy Agriculture Minister Jacek Bogucki has said.

Bogucki told the PAP news agency during a visit to Canada that for several years Polish exports to that country have been growing rapidly.
Due to the dynamic situation, it is difficult to estimate precisely how much Polish exports could increase after CETA, the Canada-EU free trade agreement, comes into force.
"We can compete on quality, which exceeds Canadian standards, and on the other hand on price," Bogucki said.
The CETA, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, was adopted by the European Parliament on 15 February. It now requires ratification by Canada and the individual EU countries.
