Speaking at the Thursday launch, Poland's Deputy Development Minister Tadeusz Kościński said that American investors are increasingly keen on Poland.

He added that the investors are interested in research and development, business centres, IT services, automotive, energy and new technologies.

”I am certain that the activity of the new PAIZ office in San Francisco will result in strengthened business ties between Poland ad the US,” Kościński said.

PAIZ CEO Tomasz Pistula said San Francisco was a key location for the agency's office because “Polish companies need easy access to America's centre of innovation.

“The office is a landing site for Polish companies taking their first steps on the US market, and a departures hall for American firms interested in investments in Poland,” he said.

PAIZ plans to open about 70 offices in countries which offer Polish companies the greatest potential for development. It has recently opened offices in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Nairobi, Shanghai in China, Singapore and Tehran. The San Francisco office is located at Rocket Space, a co-working facility tailored to tech start-ups. (vb)
