Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz on Wednesday announced that three agreements on equipment including drones for the country’s armed forces have been signed.

One concerns Polish-produced drones capable of carrying payloads. The second relates to the production of weapons to be carried by drones.

The third agreement concerns the supply of equipment such as sights and night vision gear for Poland’s new territorial defence forces.

During a “TweetUp”, in which Internet could interact with the defence minister, Macierewicz said that thanks to such agreements with Polish companies, the country was increasing its ability to repel a potential threat from Russia.

Macierewicz said last month that Poland planned to buy thousands of drones "so that we will able to defend ourselves against every threat."

He did not specify how many of the machines the defence ministry would buy.
