Non-euro EU states meet in Warsaw

Britain is not attending the meeting, hosted by Poland’s deputy foreign and finance ministers, Konrad Szymański and Piotr Nowak.

Szymański told the Polish Press Agency that “Poland, the largest EU member outside the euro-zone, is vitally interested in healing the situation in the euro-zone and supports the necessary reforms, arguing, however, that utmost attention has to be paid to preserving the integrity of the common market, which is for Poland a key economic dimension of the European Union.”

He added that there is a need to launch clear channels of communication among non-euro countries, in order to make their voice heard in the debate on the future of the euro-zone. (mk/pk)
