European Economic Congress winding up in Katowice

The eighth European Economic Congress has reached its final day in the southern city of Katowice.

One of the key events of its kind in Central Europe, the gathering has brought together some 8,000 people, according to the organisers.

Friday's agenda includes debates on issues ranging from renewable energy investment projects through digital economy to the commercialisation of scientific research.

EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Günther Oettinger was among speakers taking the platform on Friday. Attendees include deputy ministers for development, education, foreign affairs and energy. (aba)
