The Institute’s newest research confirmed the 2012 estimations about the size of the shale gas deposits in Poland.
While the gas is already being extracted, the quantities are still not big enough for western energy companies.
A rate of 11,000-15,000 m3 per day is not enough to be viable for international markets, but it is more than enough for local customers, experts say.
The Institute’s Grzegorz Pieńkowski claims that the extraction in Poland will successively rise in the future, to even “billions of cubic metres”. (tf/rg/rk)
