The Warsaw Metro board chose contractors for the planned segments of the second metro line on Thursday.
The Turkish consortium Gulermak “submitted the best bid” for the construction of stations to the west of Metro Rondo Daszyńskiego. It tendered an offer for PLN 1.1 (EUR 0.26) billion.
To the east of Metro Dworzec Wileński, the Italian company Astaldi S.p.A. tendered an offer to complete work for PLN 1.6 (EUR 0.37) billion.
Both tenders are for the construction of three stations on each end of the existing section of the second line of the Warsaw Metro, which currently has seven stations.
Each side of the contract has 10 days to make submissions for changes.
Gulermak and Astaldi S.p.A. have 38 months to complete three stations each following the signing of the contract.
The six new stations will expand the whole length of the M2 line to 13.5 kilometres. (ua/rg/rk)

The city of Warsaw has accepted tender offers of PLN 2.81 (EUR 0.66) billion for the expansion of the second metro line in the Polish capital.
