The prize, first launched this year with the aim of recognizing innovative business ideas, was granted to Grzegorz Piątek and Bartłomiej Wielogórski, graduates of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

The competition was held as part of the fifth Investment Forum in Tarnów, run within the framework of the ongoing Economic Forum in Krynica.

The two inventors walk away with a cash prize of PLN 100,000 zloty (c. EUR 24,000).

Piątek came up with the invention four years ago in order to help teach his friend’s children, who were affected by the neurological condition, to walk.

“The automated walking coach, applicable in long-term therapy, is now available for purchase,” Wielogórski says.

The product, whose market value stands at PLN 48,000 zloty (around EUR 11,000 euro), has so far been sold to two customers. (aba)
