Polish energy companies open Brussels lobby office

In an attempt to lobby for better legal framework in the EU, a group of Polish energy companies has set up shop in Brussels.

Marek Woszczyk, the President of the Polish Electricity Association, said that the aim of the office is also to change the false image of the Polish energy sector in the West, “which is primarily associated with antiquated practices, inefficient uses of fossil fuels - primarily coal.”
This perception could not be farther from the truth, Mr Woszczyk said, adding that “the Polish energy sector is one which invests in highly efficient power plants, very cleanly burns Polish coal and produces cheap electricity from it.
“We want to show the true picture of the Polish energy industry – an industry that is changing, and that is very active and quick to invest in renewable energy sources,” Woszczyk said. (rg)
