“What used to be the curse of Polish history – its location between powerful European countries - has today been transformed into an asset,” President Komorowski told journalists in Seoul, adding that Poland is perfectly located to give Asian investors a gateway to European markets.

“We are the leader in attracting South Korean investment in our part of Europe,” Komorowski said after talks with South Korea’s president Park Geun-hye.

President Park said that South Korean companies from the pharmaceutical, infrastructure and defense industries are interested in investing in Poland.

She also thanked Poland for its involvement in the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission, established after the end of the Korean war in the 1950s, which regulates relations between North and South Korea,.

“I thank you for your continued and strong support for our policy to stabilize the situation on the Korean Peninsula,” President Park said.

On Monday, Bronislaw Komorowski met with Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, to discuss Mongolia's role in spreading democracy in the Asian region and hoped to develop trade between the two countries.

"I especially count on deepening cooperation in the economic sphere. In my opinion Poland's economic potential, the effect of Poland's standing growth despite the economic crisis, and Mongolia's impressive economic growth do not sufficiently translate into Polish-Mongolian business ties", Komorowski said.
