Official – Poland's jobless rate rises again in February

Poland's central statistical office (GUS) has confirmed that the unemployment rate in February rose to 14.4 percent, up 0.2 percent from the month before.

In data released Friday morning, GUS says that 2,340,000 people registered as unemployed last month.
In February 2012, the jobless rate was 13.4 percent of the workforce.
The highest unemployment rate in Poland is in the north east Warmia and Mazury province (22.5 percent) with the lowest amount of unemployed being recorded in the western Wielkopolska region at 10.9 percent. (pg)
