On Friday, Boeing representatives will arrive in Warsaw for talks with LOT airlines on two Dreamliner aircraft, grounded since January after safety concerns due to faulty batteries.
Polish Radio understands that the Boeing representatives will discuss the debt-laden LOT national airline's demand for financial compensation from Boeing, with the grounded Dreamliner 787s costing up to 10 million zloty (2.5 million euros) a month in lost revenue.
The cost-effective Dreamliners were a vital part of LOT's strategy to reduce debt levels, after posting losses of up to 157.1 million zloty (38 million euros) in 2012. (pg)
