British band Primal Scream are just one of the acts set to perform at this year's OFF Festival, an event that has won a loyal following among discerning music fans.
The event will run from 5 to 7 August.
Founded in 2006 by Artur Rojek, frontman from the Myslovitz indie band, the festival is traditionally held in the singer's native Silesia.
Primal Scream will be airing their classic 1991 album Screamadelica, a record that had a massive impact on the UK's emerging rave scene.
Johnny Rotten's post-Sex Pistols combo Public Image Ltd will also be taking the stage, as will Mogwai, the post-punk bands Gang of Four and Blonde Redhead, among many others.
Plenty of hype surrounds experimental Polish outfit Karbido, acclaimed in the international press for “The Table”, a musical journey across the four continents, performed by four dark-suited men on a table.
After moving from Rojek's Silesian home town of Myslowice, the festival now takes place in the Katowice, the region's capital. (nh/pg)
