The ANIMATOR festival, hailed by its organizers as the country’s biggest and most important event of its type, will this year feature acclaimed British animator Tim Allen as special guest.

Allen, who specializes in stop-motion animation, worked on Tim Burton’s 2005 fantasy film Corpse Bride, Wes Anderson’s 2018 tale Isle Of Dogs and Nick Park’s comedy series Shaun The Sheep, among many others.

During the festival, over 300 animated films from across the world will be screened.

The festival, now in its 12th year, is an Academy Award - accredited event, which means that winning films have a chance to qualify for an Oscar.

ANIMATOR’s international contest will see 46 short animated films competing for the main award, the Golden Pegasus, and a hefty cash prize of PLN 45,000 (EUR 10,600, USD 11,900).

The films in the competition were picked from over 1,000 submissions from 64 countries, the organizers said on the website of the event.

The festival runs until July 11.
