Poland’s children's ombudsman has called for classes in schools to teach kids how to safely use the internet.

The ombudsman, Mikołaj Pawlak, consulted young people in drawing up a proposal for such lessons, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.
Pupils who helped come up with the plan say they have IT classes at school, but subjects like security and how to respond to hate speech online are not always broached, according to IAR.
One in three teenagers has encountered hate speech on the internet and almost one in ten has been on the receiving end personally, according to a study whose findings were highlighted by the Polish media earlier this year.
