Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, set in 1969 counterculture-era Los Angeles, tells the story of former Western TV series star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), both struggling to pursue their careers in Hollywood’s changing film industry.
The two main characters dream of becoming friends with young Polish director Roman Polanski (portrayed by Zawierucha) and his wife, Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie).
On August 9, 1969, Polanski’s pregnant wife and four of their friends were slain by followers of a cult led by Charles Manson in the couple’s Los Angeles home.
Tarantino said that the murder is still shocking.
The American filmmaker also said that he was a fan of Polanski's work and was especially impressed by Rosemary's Baby.
The Polish premiere of Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood is scheduled for August 9, which will be the 50th anniversary of the notorious murder.
