Art fest to mark centenary of Polish-Japanese relations

An art exhibition will open later this month in the Japanese city of Kyoto to mark the centenary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Japan.

The Polish-Japanese contemporary art exhibition entitled “Celebration” will showcase works from 21 artists from both countries and will run from May 18 to June 23 in Kyoto.
The exhibition is organized by Poland’s Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Japan’s Kyoto Art Center and Rohm Theatre Kyoto, with the show first to be hosted by the Kyoto Art Center.
The exhibition will also appear at the Imperial Castle in Kyoto, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Two subsequent installments of the exhibition are to be held in the Polish cities of Poznań and Szczecin.
The exhibition runs from May 31 to July 31 in Poznań and from June 31 to August 31 in Szczecin.
