Talking to a local radio station a year ago, Sołtyska said she never liked taking medicines or seeing doctors. She paid much attention to healthy eating habits. Her only problems towards the end of her life were poor eyesight and hearing abilities.
Sołtyska had seven siblings. She had three children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband died in a road accident at the age of 81.
