More complaints to Polish labour inspectors: report

Complaints lodged with Polish labour inspectors last year shot up by over 4,000 compared to 2017, officials have said.

Workers most often complained to the National Labour Inspectorate (PIP) about not being paid, not receiving a job contract and about working too many hours, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Most complaints were lodged by construction workers, and an increasing number have been flowing in from foreigners, chiefly Ukrainians, according to IAR.
The National Labour Inspectorate is an official body which checks whether employers are observing Poland’s labour laws, in particular occupational health and safety rules.
Officials received over 54,000 complaints last year in total, IAR cited a spokeswoman for the inspectorate as saying.
