A new film shows how late Polish President Lech Kaczyński warned the international community over Russia's aggressive policies a decade ago, according to a report.

The Friendship in the Shadow of the Kremlin film, due to premiere in Warsaw on Friday, recounts Lech Kaczyński’s trip to Tbilisi in August 2008 to show solidarity with Georgia in the face of Russia's invasion of that country, the niezalezna.pl website reported.
The film is scheduled to premiere at Warsaw’s Wisła cinema on Friday at 8 pm, niezalezna.pl said.
On Thursday, a special screening of the first part of the film was held with the participation of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, niezalezna.pl reported.
Yushchenko was earlier this year quoted as saying that the late Polish President Lech Kaczyński was "the last great leader" in his region.
He said at the time, as quoted by Poland’s PAP news agency, that Lech Kaczyński, who died in a plane crash eight years ago, "looked beyond the horizon and saw European projects on a macro scale."
According to former NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Lech Kaczyński was right when he warned the international community over Russia's intentions regarding Georgia as well as Ukraine in 2008.
Lech Kaczyński said at the time, according to niezalezna.pl: “Today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the day after tomorrow the Baltic states, and then, perhaps, the time will come for my country, Poland."
Lech Kaczyński died on April 10, 2010, when a Polish plane carrying him, his wife, and 94 others, mainly political and military top brass, crashed while trying to land at the Smolensk air base in western Russia. All aboard were killed.
