People will be able to hear parts of the festival by tuning in to the Polish Radio Literature programme, which will air competitions and the gala finale, said the head of the culture section of Polish Radio, Anna Juśkiewicz.

But before Polish Radio Literature starts broadcasting the theatre festival, which starts in the Baltic resort town of Sopot on June 29, the programme will air some of “the treasures of Polish Radio’s archives”, Juśkiewicz added.

Among those treasures listeners will find The Career of Nicodemus Dyzma, Tadeusz Dołęgia-Mostowicz’s tale of an unemployed man who accidentally gets swept into the inner circle of Poland’s political elite, The Swedish Deluge, Nobel prize laureate Henryk Sienkiewicz’s retelling of the 17th century invasion of Poland, and crime fiction stories by Polish Radio’s Green Eye Theatre.

Listeners can tune in to Polish Radio Literature on digital broadcast platform DAB+, online, and via a mobile app. (vb/di)
