It was his first appearance in his hometown since winning the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv in May 2017.
He performed a selection of works by Haydn, Brahms, Stravinsky and the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski.
Twenty-two-year-old Nehring is currently a student of Boris Berman at the Yale School of Music in the United States.
He told the Polish Press Agency that he focuses on expanding his repertoire and tries to maintain a balance between further study and concert tours.
“I have fifty concerts scheduled for 2018 and that’s enough”, he said, adding that the Rubinstein Competition was the last one in his career.
In 2015, Nehring was a finalist in the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. Last year he gave recitals in New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Wigmore Hall.
On 30 January, Nehring performs at the Salle Cortot in Paris. (mk/vb)
