No Golden Globe for Loving Vincent

The directors of the Polish-British animated film Loving Vincent are returning empty-handed from the 75th Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California.

The accolade for Best Animated Feature went to Coco, an American production that follows a Mexican boy who dreams of becoming a musician and accidentally ends up in the land of the dead during the annual Dia de los Muertos festival.
Loving Vincent, the world's first fully painted feature film, tells the story of the life and mysterious death of the painter Vincent van Gogh. Each of its 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas created by a team of 115 painters using the same technique as Van Gogh. The film was directed by Poland’s Dorota Kobiela and Britain’s Hugh Welchman.
In 2017, Loving Vincent won the European Film Award and the Audience Award at the International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France.
It is in the race for an Academy Award.
Loving Vincent has proved to be the greatest financial success in the history of Polish cinema, bringing in USD 20 million worldwide at the box office, including USD 6 million in the United States.
