The celebrations also included a concert entitled Musical Tribute to Tadeusz Kościuszko.

Kościuszko was a military hero of independence movements in both Poland and American who died 200 years ago. Some of his own compositions, as well as those by other artists inspired by and dedicated to Kościuszko, will be featured in the concert.

The National Museum in Kraków was established in 1879, making it Poland's oldest national museum. It has some 900,000 items in its archives, and claims to have the largest number of collections, buildings and permanent exhibitions. (vb/pk)
