Concert pays tribute to Poland’s veterans

The National Philharmonic in Warsaw hosted a tribute concert to Poland’s veterans on Saturday evening.

Hundreds of military veterans took part in the event, accompanied by groups of school students and representatives of patriotic organizations.
"The intention is to for the hall [of the Philharmonic] to be filled with the spirit of the same values that shaped the generation of the Polish Underground State [during World War II], and it is very important for the new generation to preserve them," said Jan Kasprzyk, the Head of the Office for Veterans and Victims of Oppression.
The Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tadeusz Karolak performed selections from the work of film music composer Michał Lorenc. (ał)
