The movie, which will be shot in English in Poland, Italy and the United States, blends Navajo mythology with a tale about a fictional trillionaire and his would-be biographer.
Majewski is best known beyond Poland for his award-winning 2011 film 'The Mill on the Cross', a dream-like concoction inspired by Pieter Bruegel the Elder's painting 'The Procession to Calvary'.
The film starred Rutger Hauer and Charlotte Rampling, the latter now returning to work with the director for 'Valley of the Gods'.
Rhys-Davies, who played dwarf king Gimli in Peter Jackson's adaptation of 'The Lord of the Rings', joined forces with Majewski in 2013 when they were both jury members at Kraków's Off Camera Festival. (nh/pk)
