US television network NBC will remake the Polish 1980s miniseries The Decalogue.
The 1988 original was made by the late Oscar-nominated director Krzysztof Kieślowski, known for such films as The Three Colours.
The series of ten hour-long films, each inspired by one of the Ten Commandments, was co-written by Kieślowski with Krzysztof Piesiewicz, a lawyer and later politician whose career was ended by a drug scandal.
The NBC adaptation is set in Boston and will be directed by Todd Ellis Kessler, the director of The Good Wife. He is also the executive producer alongside Stephen McPherson via his Wonder Monkey banner as well as Debra Stasson and Beata Pisula. Entertainment One will make the series. (an)
