Hungarian Day on Polish Radio on March 15 will see the public broadcaster running reports from Budapest and programmes about bilateral relations on most of its stations.

There will also be interviews with politicians and culture leaders and discussions about people-to-people ties.

The project is a result of cooperation between Polish and Hungarian public service media.

Polish Radio CEO Andrzej Rogoyski said: “We have established this project in collaboration with Hungarian public service broadcaster MTVA, one of our closest partners in the European media landscape, along with other broadcasters from the V4 region."

The V4, otherwise known as the Visegrad Group, is a regional cooperation platform that brings together Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Rogoyski added: "The date we chose is very special. It marks the anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, a historical event that brought our nations closer to each other."

Meanwhile, on May 3, a Polish Day is planned in the Hungarian media to coincide with Poland’s Constitution Day, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
