The suspect was arrested in central Stockholm on Tuesday evening, according to The Local, a digital news publisher.
The suspect is believed to have been involved in criminal activity since at least 2017, and reportedly worked in the Swedish hi-tech industry, according to The Local.
“It’s a person who is suspected of being enlisted as an agent by a Russian intelligence officer” who worked in Sweden under diplomatic cover, Daniel Stenling, head of counter-intelligence at the Swedish Security Police, was quoted as saying by The Local.
