Novichok was also infamously used on ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal in Salisbury earlier this year.

A 44-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both British nationals, were taken to a hospital in Salisbury on Saturday after they were found unconscious in nearby Amesbury.

Tests showed they had been poisoned using the Russian-made agent, niezalezna.pl reported.

Police are investigating whether the latest Novichok poisoning is connected to the Skripal case, the website said.

Former Russian intelligence agent Sergei Skripal, who was convicted of spying for Britain, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with Novichok in Salisbury in March.

In a separate incident, seven workers from Tbilisi international airport were taken to hospital on July 2 with symptoms of poisoning and a Russian national was detained by Georgian police on suspicion that he poured an unknown substance on the airport’s service counters, niezalezna.pl reported.
