A 40-year-old Polish man has died following a New Year's Eve knife attack in Ireland, according a report.

The man was attacked at around 11 pm on a street in Ballyjamesduff, a small town in the north of the country, The Irish Times reported.
According to the paper’s website, the man received serious stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital but died on Monday morning.
No arrests have been made, The Irish Times said, adding that police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack to come forward.
