Primate of Poland Archbishop Wojciech Polak, Senator Anna Maria Anders, the daughter of a WWII hero, and Senate deputy Speaker Adam Bielan were honorary marshals of the parade.

Bielan said that a “strong and united” Polish diaspora can help Poland achieve its national interests, especially as regards security.

“American politicians are also counting on, above all, strong groups, which have an effect on American policy. So the better organized and influential the Polish diaspora, the safer Poland,” he said.

Launched in 1936, the Pulaski Parade is held in memory of the Polish American War of Independence hero Kazimierz Pułaski (Casimir Pulaski). (vb/pk)
