Businessman Jan Żyliński, who has styled himself as a Polish prince, officially entered the London mayoral race on Wednesday, declaring that the city needs a leader 'with balls.'

Żyliński, who grew up in the UK, registered on Wednesday as a candidate in the election, which takes place on 5 May.
He famously challenged Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), to a duel in April 2015, in protest against the latter's supposed “discrimination” against Poles.
Żyliński said then that he would use the sabre of his late father – a nobleman and cavalry officer who led a celebrated charge in the Polish-Bolshevik War – to take on the politician.
Speaking prior to Wednesday's mayoral registration, Żyliński told London business paper City A.M. that Farage is “a scoundrel,” adding that “if I am elected mayor the first thing I will do is ban him from London.” (nh)
