Maciej Blandziński, 23, had only just been released after serving a prison sentence for vandalism when the latest incident occurred on Sunday.

His lawyer Gary Harvey told Flintshire Magistrates Court that Blandziński has no passport or ID papers, is unable to claim benefits and cannot work legally. He likewise cannot afford the flight back to Poland.

The judge handed down a twelve-week sentence.

In late December, Blandziński had been filmed smashing up a pensioner's car in the Welsh town. He told the car's owner that he wanted to be sent back to Poland, but a local court gave him a short prison sentence.

The defendant was under the influence of alcohol when he carried out both December's act of vandalism, and Sunday's assault. (nh/pk)
