Ukraine has suffered from the exclusion of the United States from its negotiations with Russia, Polish parliament speaker and former foreign minister, Radosław Sikorski said.

The recent ceasefire agreement signed in the Belarussian capital of Minsk is not to Ukraine’s best interests, as it fails to guarantee a cessation of Russian military aggression against Ukraine, Sikorski said in a television interview.
The ceasefire was negotiated between Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France – a configuration that is not to Ukraine’s best interests. Sikorski, who as foreign minister negotiated an end to the massacre of pro-EU demonstrators in Kiev in January 2014, said Russia was at one point willing to negotiate with Ukraine, the US and the EU.
“I told [Ukrainian President] Petro Poroshenko that this would be better for Ukraine,” he said. (an)
