There are around 200 people who want to make use of the programme.
Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Grzegorz Schetyna highlighted the fact that the government “will do anything to carry out the evacuation in January.”
Schetyna refrained from giving a specific date, explaining that this was to ensure the “safety of the evacuees.”
The operation will cost an estimated PLN 4 million.
On December 26, Polish authorities finished collecting the names of individuals of Polish descent who are interested in leaving the conflict-torn region. (rg)
