Lech Walesa to attend Mandela tribute

UPDATED - Lech Walesa will join Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski representing Poland at tomorrow’s memorial ceremony for South Africa’s first black president Nelson Mandela.

The service will take place at the 95, 000-seat stadium in Soweto, the township which was at the centre of the anti-apartheid struggle.

More than 70 world leaders are expected to attend the ceremony, including US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron. (mk)
