Polish man found on UK 'slavery farm'

UK media have reported that a Polish man has been discovered on a farm in southern Wales that is being investigated as part of an anti-slavery operation.

Welsh police have confirmed that a man has been taken to a hospital at an undisclosed address, where his physical and mental health are being assessed.
Four adults have been arrested this week in connection with the raid on Cariad Farm in Peterstone, near the city of Newport.
Newport Council lists the property as “gypsy and traveller family-owned accommodation.”
Operation Imperial was launched after an English man who disappeared while on a family holiday in southern Wales 13 years ago was discovered at the Peterstone site in a 'vulnerable' condition.
Police are combing the farm in the belief that human remains may be concealed at the site.
An anonymous letter was sent to Welsh police some months ago, and officers are appealing for the sender to come forward.
The UK's Home Office has described the case as an “appalling reminder of the extent to which slavery has reappeared in our country.” (nh)
