3D animated films, comics and blogs have been touted as amongst the attractions of the official web site to accompany Poland's forthcoming presidency of the EU.
The web site, at www.pl2011.eu, which will be launched in mid-June, a fortnight before the presidency begins, will be formatted in four languages: Polish, English, French and German.
The intended audience is both the general public and politicians due to take part in meetings connected with the presidency.
Polish politicians themselves have been invited to contribute blogs, but it is unconfirmed at this stage who will be taking part.
Some of the more fun elements include a section on Polish cuisine, with 16 noted chefs promoting classic Polish products such as goose, cheeses and honeys.
Likewise a parallel section will bring to life Poland's historic and contemporary attractions, with celebrities such as jazz ace Leszek Mozdzer and explorer Marek Kaminski musing about their favourite spots to visit in the country.
The Polish presidency is already active in cyberspace, with official profiles on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. (nh/pg)
